This films unique selling point it the use of Modern technology Vs futuristic. The premise of an advanced alien/futuristic weapon is almost certain to be full of expensive special effects and lots of destruction.
Looking at the demographic it is obvious that the film is aimed at 15-24 year old males. This is because the film is full of action and explosions, which typically attract young males. The premise of a romantic sub-plot is as not to limit the audience to a entierly male demographic.

In my trailer, i tried to make the action the centre of attention. To do this, i chose the biggest, most sweeping or close shots as possible, to try and give a sense of scale. Also, the battleship is discovered immediatly in my trailer, and then the navy is introduced. I did this to try and hook in my male audience, and show that the film features expensive special effects right away. After the brief introduction to the navy, i picked up where the beginning of the trailer left off, catapulting the main character away, and follwed by windows exploading and a door being broken. An alien then walks in and attacks a human. This is to show there is a lot of conflict, but also to start off on a small scale, to create intreauge. I then work my way up by introducing the battleship and it attacking the navy ship. Once again, showing an increase in scale, and also showing the technology the battleship posesses. I then moved on to the largest scale shots, such as having a bulding collapse and a meteorite crashing into the ground. To finish i showed a few shots of negitive reactions from the hero and lead female, followed by a shot of the antagonist to keep the audiance wanting more.
My trailer is different from the official one, in that mine focuses soley on the action, and does not take long to get to the action. This is to create the illusion that that is what the wohle film is about.
